The Gite : Holiday Gites in France

The Gite:

The Gite is a 40m2 self contained unit adjoining the traditional Vosgienne farmhouse. The gite boasts exposed beams, an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner, and a spacious double bedroom. From the bedroom there is a large wet room style shower and separate toilet.

The kitchen comes well equipped with a microwave oven, electric oven and hob, fridge freezer, and automatic washing machine.
There is ample secure storage available for skis, and bikes etc.

The Vosges Mountains:

The Vosges Mountains; famous for its snow covered slopes which are the most northerly ski slopes in France, are nestled in the Lorraine region of Eastern France, just 90 minutes drive from the German and Swiss borders. After a 30 minute drive you will find yourself deep in the Alsace region, famous for its food and wine.

6 hour drive from Calais
4 hour drive from Paris

By Air:

Direct Air France flights from Gatwick to Strasbourg. (90 minute drive from Strasbourg airport)
Direct Easy Jet and British Airways flights from Heathrow, Luton, Stansted, Liverpool and Manchester to Basel/Mulhouse. (90 minute drive from Basel/Mulhouse airport)
Direct Ryan Air flights from Stansted to Baden Baden, Karlshrue, Germany. (2 hour drive from Baden Baden airport)

By Rail:

Daily returns from Paris to St Die (30 minute drive)
Daily returns from Paris to Epinal (30 minute drive)
From 2007 the TGV will be in operation from Paris to Epinal. This journey will be possible in 2 and a half hours.
